DAVID LEPINE, after winning Scholarships to the King's School, Canterbury, and Durham University, studied the organ with Dr. Harold Darke. In 1953 he was appointed Director of Music at Dean Close School, Cheltenham, and then, in 1961, first Organist of the new Cathedral in Coventry and Music Adviser to Coventry Education Authority. In I963 he relinquished this latter post to devote himself entirely to work at the Cathedral.
