The members of the Kuhlau Quartet are all young Danish flautiss. All of them come from Professor Poul Birkelund's class at the Royal Danish Academy of Music, and later they have all studied for several years under the guidance of the teachers mentioned above:
Toke Lund Christiansen (solo flautist at the Danish Radio Orchestra) under the guidance of Marcel Moyse, William Bennet and James Galway.
Bent Larsen with Marcel Moyse, Maxence Larrieu and Jean-Pierre Rampal.
Ole Birger Pedersen (solo flautist at the Royal Life (Guard) with Marcel Moyse, Michel Dehost, Maxence Larrieu and Jean-Pierre Rampal.
Hendrik Svitzer (solo flautist at the Royal Orchestra) with Marcel Moyse, Julius Baker, Maxence Larrieu and Jean-Pierre Rampal.
All the members have played and still play as soloists at numerous concerts at home and abroad, in radio broadcasts, and on T.V., and have won prizes together and seperately in France, Yugoslavia Germany and Denmark.
The quartet uses the whole transverse flute family from the piccolo to the alto flute and the bass flute.
The repertoire covers music from the early baroque up to the present time.
